IS TEETH WHITENING SUITABLE FOR EVERYONE?
Tooth whitening treatment is a preferred type of treatment for both young and adult patients. This procedure should only be applied to healthy mouths. Therefore, a dentist should address cavities, abrasions, and gum diseases before performing whitening procedures. Otherwise, tooth sensitivity may develop. Patients should not use whitening gels on their own without a dental examination.

WHAT ARE THE CURRENT WHITENING METHODS?
There are two known methods of teeth whitening today. The first is 'at-home' whitening, which the patient can apply themselves. The second method is 'office' whitening, which is performed by a dentist in a clinic. Mild to moderate discoloration can be whitened in dental clinics with 1-hour office-type (2 sessions) special light devices; while for more severe discoloration, additional at-home whitening is recommended. At-home whitening products that can be applied with a thin brush are also available.
WILL TEETH RETURN TO THEIR ORIGINAL STATE AFTER WHITENING? WHAT IS THE LASTING EFFECT OF WHITENING?
Teeth will always be whiter than before. The success of the initial whitening treatment greatly affects the lifespan of the treatment. Other important factors include the patient's frequency of tea, coffee, smoking, and colored beverage consumption, as well as oral hygiene. Depending on the degree of discoloration, a reinforcement treatment may be necessary. However, this reinforcement is not applied for as long as the initial whitening. After whitening treatment, whitening toothpaste and thin brush-shaped 'whitening pens' can be applied as recommended by the dentist. These applications extend the life of the whitening.
