TEETH WHITENING

IS TEETH WHITENING APPLICABLE TO EVERYONE?
Teeth Whitening treatment is a preferred treatment type for young and adult patients. This application should be applied to healthy mouths. Therefore, the dentist can perform the whitening process after removing the decay, abrasions and gum diseases. Otherwise, tooth sensitivity may develop. The patient should not use the whitening gel on their own without a dentist examination.

DOES THE SUCCESS OF WHITENING VARY FROM PERSON TO PERSON?
It is known that whitening is especially successful for people with yellow-toned teeth. The whitening rate depends on the tone of our teeth before the whitening process and varies from person to person. Therefore, we should discuss our expectations with our dentist in advance.
WHAT ARE TODAY'S WHITENING METHODS?
There are two different teeth whitening methods known today. The first of these is 'home type' whitening that the patient can apply on their own. The second teeth whitening method is 'Office' type whitening that is performed by a physician in a clinic.
Mild and moderate discolorations can be whitened with 1 hour office-type (2 sessions) special light devices in dental clinics; while for advanced discolorations, home-type whitening is recommended in addition. Home-type whitenings that can be applied with a thin brush can also be used.
CAN TEETH RETURN TO THEIR PREVIOUS SHAPE AFTER WHITENING? WHAT IS THE LIFETIME OF WHITENING?
The teeth will always be whiter than before. The success of the first whitening process greatly affects the life of this treatment. Other important factors are the patient's frequency of tea, coffee, cigarettes, colored drinks and oral hygiene. Depending on the degree of discoloration, a reinforcement treatment may be required. However, this reinforcement is not applied for as long as the first whitening. After the whitening treatment, whitening toothpastes and thin brush-shaped 'whitening pens' can be applied according to the dentist's recommendation. These applications extend the life of the whitening.
