WHITE FILLINGS

WHAT ARE WHITE FILLERS?
Although white fillings are commonly known as "laser fillings," this name is misleading. The light source used to harden the composite material is not a laser, but rather a halogen or LED light source. Composite materials are polymer structures that can mimic the hard tissue of teeth and can easily adhere thanks to pre-preparation of the teeth.
White fillings offer an aesthetic advantage because they match the natural tooth color. This type of filling improves the appearance of teeth while also providing durability. The application process is usually quick and can be completed in a single session. They are also more economical than porcelain veneers. The use of white fillings helps address patients' aesthetic concerns while also being an effective method for protecting dental health.
BEYAZ DOLGULAR HANGİ DİŞLERDE TERCİH EDİLİR?

In the treatment of tooth decay and in the creation of aesthetic white fillings to replace amalgam fillings.
In the treatment of broken teeth
In the treatment of spaced teeth
In teeth with tooth wear and sensitivity
In minor shape changes
WHO SHOULD AVOID WHITE FILLERS?
White fillings should be avoided in the following cases:
When numerous aesthetic restorations are required for the front teeth, porcelain veneers or zirconium crowns should be preferred.
If there is significant loss of tooth structure, porcelain veneers, inlays, or zirconium crowns would be more suitable options.
When treating spaced teeth, alternative methods to white fillings should be preferred.
If the patient consumes excessive amounts of tea, coffee, or cigarettes, the use of porcelain veneers or zirconium crowns is recommended.
DO TEETH NEED TO BE CUT DURING WHITE FILLINGS?
Composite restorations do not require tooth preparation.
WHAT IS THE LIFESPAN OF COMPOSITE RESTORATIONS?
Composite restorations are quite successful in patients with limited tea, coffee, and smoking intake. After annual polishing, these restorations can last for 6-7 years. In case of discoloration or fracture, the restoration can be slightly abraded and the top surface remade without completely removing it.
